Odds and Ends; Not Too Odd

I intend to read and review Cycling: Philosophy for Everyone soon. I submitted an essay proposal for this book way back when, but it was not accepted. An essay by Russell Arben Fox, a contributor to Front Porch Republic, was accepted. He discussed his essay in a recent post examining the politics of transportation bicycling and trying to make that choice available to more people.

I’ve been a bit remiss in highlighting all the good bicycling stuff goring on over at Drury University. They started a bicycle loaner program. And a story in yesterday’s News-Leader introduces us to their university bicycle repair shop — totally cool! And in other Drury news: They now have a shortage of bicycle racks — a good problem to have as long as you’re moving forward to correct it. I’m excited by the idea that more riders at Drury may mean more people moving across the Chestnut Expressway barrier by means of something other than a car.

Hmm, Andy goes in with the Viagra ads, eh? It gives the phrase “stimulating commentary” a whole new meaning! 🙂
