The MSU Libraries and the Ozarks Studies Institute is partnering with Carbon Trace Productions to bring you this sequel. Please make donations to the Ozarks Documentary Fund at the MSU Foundation. Back-to-the-landers from the 1970s embraced and now carry on the traditional ways of the Ozarks. Meanwhile, descendants of early settlers confront the challenges of a country that would rather forget them. Together and alone, they face the complex issues of the 21st century. Carbon Trace Productions has begun filming “A Portrait of the Ozarks,” a follow-up to the immensely popular and now viral documentary film – of the same name – made about Shannon County in the early 1980s. Carbon Trace Productions is a certified 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of people and humanitarian issues while educating students in the art of documentary filmmaking.
