The entire Carbon Trace leadership team welcomes Leslie Seawright as the newest member of our Board of Directors!
Dr. Seawright officially became a member-at-large on the Carbon Trace Board of Directors after being unanimously approved at a special B.O.D. meeting on July 13, 2020, at 05:00 P.M.
“I am looking forward to working on the board and helping Carbon Trace Productions obtain grant funding. Students under my supervision have applied for nearly half a million dollars in grants.”
Seawright joined the faculty of Missouri State University in 2016. She is currently an associate professor of English in the Technical and Professional Writing Program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in grant writing, intercultural writing, legal writing, and technical writing theory. A native Sooner, Leslie attended the University of Oklahoma and majored in Communication. After marrying her husband, the pair moved to Rogers, Arkansas, where she obtained her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Arkansas.
Leslie lived for four years in Doha, Qatar, as an assistant professor at Texas A&M University in Qatar. Her adventures in the Middle East included travel to countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Travel remains her passion, and as a faculty member at MSU, she has lead study away programs to the United Arab Emirates and Austria. Her most recent study away trip to Argentina was canceled due to COVID-19.
In addition to her work teaching, she has served on the board of a large rehabilitation center and has experience working for several nonprofit organizations in Oklahoma and Arkansas
